How to photograph people who aren’t models

Starting photography can a bit challenging, one of the challenges you may face is learning to photography people who aren’t models. Here are some tips to help the photoshoot run smoothly.

1. Talk to your model. This may seem really obvious but photographer tend to go silent during photoshoots. Try talk to your model and help feel more comfortable. Tell them what the shoot is about and what you hope to achieve from the shoot. Make sure you let them know what kind of pictures you want to get. If the model knows what you want they work better with you.

2. Teach them how to pose. Most people feel nervous and uncomfortable in front of the camera because the don’t know what to do, especially with there hands. So try posing them. Tell them to move around, run their hand through their hair, pick a flower. You can even ask them to jump about to make them loosen up. When the strike a pose you like tell them, and they will begin to have an idea of what pose suit them and the pictures you want to achieve.

3.Give them some props. Give model props can help them feel more comfortable. You can have them read a book, or hold a balloon or blow confetti. Action like this help you get dynamic photos while having fun with your model.

4.Clothes and environment. When taking pictures of people who aren’t model it is important to pay attention to the details of the photos. Always make sure you match your subject to the background.

5. Listen to your model. While shooting allow your model to pose how they like thenmake minor correction. If the free comfortable with what they are doing the pictures will look even better

Go out and experiment with your friends. Enjoy taking pictures.
